Rob Howes
Rob Howes
Manager Recruitment
Rob moved to Tasmania from the UK in early 2005 and has been working within the Recruiting market in the State ever since. Having previously worked within the information technology industry in the UK, he was ideally placed to set up a dedicated IT and technical recruitment specialist area in his first role.
At Searson Buck he has transferred his success from IT into Engineering and then Executive recruitment and has created a client base that sees the value in the service he offers. From first-line help desk people, Senior Project Managers, to CEOs he has assisted in the placement of people from intrastate, interstate and overseas. As a dedicated recruiter he believes that it is his personal and bespoke service that has made him successful as well as having a sound comprehension of highly specialised positions and their relevance to the client's business as a whole.
Rob currently holds the position of Manager of both the Temporary and Permanent Recruitment teams in Hobart and continues to provide an invaluable service to his clients in a candidate short market. He puts his high ratio of filling traditionally difficult roles within short skilled areas down to innovative search methods and referrals from satisfied candidates that have used him before - his goal is to make difficult recruitment easy for his clients, be it an executive level appointment or a highly technical role.
Rob decided to work for Searson Buck as it prides itself on its service to the Tasmanian business community. He sees Searson Buck as an integral part of the future of the State through "selling" Tasmania to interstate and overseas candidates that we need to secure our future.
Rob wants his children to grow up in Tasmania and for the state to flourish, he says we need to keep our skills here and encourage more to join. He previously worked as a Journalist in Radio, is passionate about quality recruitment and misses real Scotch Eggs!
