Senior Consultant, Permanent Recruitment - Hobart

Rob moved to Tasmania from the UK in early 2005 and has been working within the Technical Recruiting market in the State ever since. Having previously worked within the information technology industry in the UK, he was ideally placed to set up Tasmania's only dedicated IT recruitment specialist area.

Over the past 6 months he has transferred his success from Engineering into IT and has created a client base that sees the value in the service he offers. From first-line help desk through to CTO and Senior Project Managers, he has assisted in the placement of people from instratate, interstate and overseas. He is still heavily involved in the Engineering Recruitment sector and believes that it is his personal and bespoke service that has made him successful in such a difficult area. As a dedicated recruiter in different roles as well as having a sound comprehension of these highly specialised positions and their relevance to the business as a whole.

As a Technical Specialist, Rob has proved to be invaluable to his clients in a candidate short market. He puts his high ratio of filling traditionally difficult roles down to innovative search methods and referrals from satisfied candidates that have used Rob before.

Recruitment Specialist - Finance and Accounting

Gemma joined the Searson Buck team in mid 2007 as a Recruitment Consultant within the Permanent Recruitment Division. She brings with her a wealth of knowledge and experience having worked within the industry in Hobart for the previous 2 years. Gemma has also spent five years in various contact centres both locally and overseas, including  Qantas Reservations for three and half years as a Sales Consultant and Trainer. During this time Gemma was involved in the training of new staff including call quality evaluations and staff development.

Gemma is able to offer you comprehensive recruitment solutions tailored to meet your businesses needs and operates with the highest level of honesty and integrity. Gemma makes it her business to understand your business to ensure only the highest quality candidates are presented every time. Her key strength lie in her excellent communication skills, her prompt delivery of service and her common sense approach.

Angela works in the Hobart office of Searson Buck and has been employed by the company for more than a year.

Angela has over twenty years experience in the following areas:

  • People and Call Centre Management - specialising is staff development.
  • Sales - ensuring that clients' lifestyles and businesses are protected by providing consultative and quality advice.
  • Credit Assessment - working together with clients to help them achieve their financial goals and needs.

Fiona Palfreyman

Recruitment Specialist - Legal, Real Estate and HR

While completing her Bachelor of Commerce degree in 2005, Fiona won the Searson Buck/ University of Tasmania Human Resource Award for Excellence in HR and undertook work experience with Searson Buck in 2006 as part of her prize.

After travelling and working in New Zealand in 2006, Fiona returned home to Hobart and began as a Para Consultant with Searson Buck in February 2007. Working on a number of bulk recruitment projects with National companies, Fiona's attention to detail saw her also take on marketing support duties.

Fiona was promoted to the position of Consultant in February 2008 after developing strong client and candidate relationships in the Real Estate sector. She now focuses on the Legal, Real Estate and the Human Resource sector.

As part of Hobart's Permanent Recruitment team, Fiona is passionate about building her industry sectors through working with clients to ensure positive outcomes for their business, as well as forming relationships with her candidates to provide them with the career and work opportunities they seek.

Manager - Northern Recruitment

Rachel joined Searson Buck in the position of Manager - Northern Recruitment, which encompasses the Launceston, Devonport and Burnie branches.  Rachel is responsible for the management of staff in both the permanent and temporary recruitment divisions across the North of the State, whilst providing clients with senior level recruitment expertise and support to the overall business development and growth of Searson Buck Recruitment.

Rachel has completed a Bachelor of Arts (BA) from Edith Cowan University in Western Australia and a Bachelor of Commerce (BCom), majoring in Human Resource Management, from the University of Tasmania.  In addition, Rachel is currently undertaking her Master of Business Administration (MBA) through the University of Tasmania .

Prior to joining Searson Buck, Rachel had worked in the Tasmanian Government sector and spent a number of years working in the recruitment industry both in Tasmania and Western Australia as a temporary and permanent recruitment consultant, logistics coordinator and Business Development Manager.  Rachel is also Director and Secretary of her own service company located in the North West of the State, which continues as a going concern today.

Rachel's breadth of experience in both the private and public sectors is an invaluable asset to Searson Buck.  Rachel is adept in building a strong rapport with clients who enjoy leveraging on her business knowledge to assist in achieving their broader strategic objectives through a resource that provides them with significant competitive advantage - their human resources.

Permanent Recruitment Consultant

Skye joined the Searson Buck team in 2008 as Permanent Recruitment Consultant, her passion for people and building relationships attracting her to the role. Born and educated in Sydney, Skye found her way to Launceston after working and travelling in Canada, The USA, The UK, Europe and Asia.

To complement her passion for travel and people she studied a Bachelor of Tourism degree, majoring in Human Resource Management at the University of Tasmania. Skye graduated in 2006 and worked in hospitality, retail, sales and tourism whilst she completed her degree. Upon completion of her degree she developed her leadership skills and business acumen through managing a team of travel consultants.

Skye is focussed on developing strong client and candidate relationships to ensure she is meeting their individual needs. Through spending time getting to know the culture and environment of their business, and taking a proactive approach with her candidates, she can confidently deliver the highest quality of service every time.
