Senior Workplace Relations Consultant
Jamie brings to his position over 17 years experience in Industrial Relations and Human Resource Management.
Professional experience spans across all sectors of industrial relations including Commission and Tribunal advocacy (Australian Industrial Relations Commission, Tasmanian Industrial Commission, Tasmanian Anti-discrimination Commission/Tribunal, Tasmanian Workers Compensation Tribunal), agreement making and workplace reform.
He has drafted and negotiated Enterprise Agreements in both State and Federal jurisdictions and provided mediation processes as part of his work in Human Resources Manager roles.
Jamie's strengths lie in his ability to negotiate positive outcomes for employers, employees and unions. As a bargaining agent Jamie is results driven and utilises his experience gained whilst working as a senior HR/IR practitioner for both large Tasmanian private businesses and government departments.
His qualifications include a Diploma in Business Management (Human Resources), Certificate IV Training and Assessment and Certificate IV Occupational Health & Safety. Jamie is a current member of the Australian Human Resource Institute (AHRI) and the Industrial Relations Society (Tasmania).

James Graham
James Graham
Principal Industrial Relations Consultant
James commenced as a business consultant in June 1994 following a twenty-year career in the Australian Public Service, the last six as Tasmanian State Manager of the Department of Industrial Relations. Since 1994 James has worked with a large number of private, public and community sector organisations. His extensive and valuable 'hands - on' experience as a senior manager and successful consultant allows him to understand the importance of good industrial relations and the linkage between modern management principles and successful workplace change.
With a BA degree from the University of Tasmania with majors including employment law, James also completed the Professional Certificate in Arbitration through the University of Adelaide in 2001 and is an accredited mediator and conciliator.
His main areas of experience and expertise are in the areas of (i) industrial relations in terms of its impact on organisational development, (ii) management systems (iii) training and development and (iv) strategic development.
James is immediate Past President of the Housing Industry Association (Tasmania Region), is National Chair of the HIA IR/Legal Committee and is Tasmanian Chair of the youthBUILD Foundation. He is also a member of the Institute of Arbitrators and Mediators Australia and is an Industry Partner with the Workplace Authority.
Recognising that the skill, knowledge and experience required for serious improvement actually exists within each organisation, James sees his role supporting personnel at all organisational levels to help them to understand the enormous contribution they can make to the process of long-term continuous organisational improvement.

Educated in Launceston, Frances has a Bachelor of Business, Diploma in Business (Frontline Management), Diploma in Training and Assessment Systems and a Certificate IV in Assessment and Workplace Training.
Frances has 15 years experience working within the Vocational Education and Training sector in Tasmania, with considerable experience in developing, delivering and managing training and assessment programs for both the public and private sectors.
Frances specialises in the delivery of qualifications in Business, Frontline Management and Human Resource Management. Key program areas include: Leadership Skills, Performance Management, Recruitment & Selection, and Customer Service Skills.
At Searson Buck, Frances manages our Learning area and works with internal and external resources to provide solutions to our client's learning and development needs.
Frances is committed to the development and up-skilling of individuals leading to a productive and efficient workplace. Frances is also committed to ensuring learning is customised to meet the learning outcomes of both the learner and organisation.

Vicki Parkinson

Manager, Donington and HR Practitioner
Vicki forms part of our People Performance team as a HR Practitioner in our Launceston office. She delivers a variety of HR Services including: career counselling, career management and outplacement, HR locum support and advice and assistance around HR issues. Vicki manages the statewide delivery of Donington Tasmania services through our specialist inhouse and contracted Consultants working with a wide range of industries, including government sectors.
After completing secondary studies in Travel and Tourism in 1996, Vicki worked in the tourism industry for 11 years, specialising in people management, HR and the operational management of a tourism related contact centre. During this time Vicki took on a mentoring role for middle management, established HR policies and practices specific to the centre, facilitated change management and communication programs and developed business and HR strategy. During a sabbatical in 2002 Vicki worked within the recruitment industry in the United Kingdom.
Vicki has a Graduate Certificate in Management and is part way through completing the Graduate Diploma of Business Administration with Deakin University. Vicki is a member of Australian Human Resources Institute (AHRI).

Simone Ashby

Tasmanian educated, Simone moved to Sydney in 1996 where she spent 8 years working within large recruitment consultancies specialising in Recruitment Projects for internal restructuring campaigns. Her expertise has been used within multinatinals like Pfizer, National Foods and Boral; the last being a complete restructure of the IT department.
Since returning to Tasmania at the end of 2005, Simone has worked within the government sector on a wide range of these internal projects where she has taken a lead role in selection panels, generating Statement of Duties and Selection Criteria, position classifications, developing interview questions and selection reports. Clients have benefited greatly from Simone's professional and honest approach as well as her understanding of the complex issues surrounding restructure projects.
The interview Panel Selection Assistance service includes:-
· Assistance with generating and revising Statement of Duties and Selection Criteria.
· Assessing applications against selection and assessment criterias and referring specific candidates for shortlist and interview.
· Provide a detailed synopsis on why candidates were not shortlisted.
· The arrangement and participation in selection panel interviews.
· Participation in selection panel interviews as a scribe only (optional).
· Writing behavioural based interview questions relative to the selection/assessment criteria.
· Develop and complete selection reports with relevant competency summaries for each interviewed candidate (optional).
