Searson Buck and Community Assistance

Searson Buck is serious in its efforts to assist local, national and international causes. Whether it is charitable, cultural, educational or professional, we are delighted to be involved.

Searson Buck staff happily donate their time and money to worthwhile causes, manage corporate fund raising events, and offer expert advice or facilitate networking opportunities to assist people further their careers. We are also dedicated to the future of HR and proudly support Tasmania's University students through the annual Searson Buck Scholarship in HR, as well as providing regular Internship opportunities

Moving forward in 2009, Searson Buck's community focus not only addresses local issues, it extends beyond the coast lines of Tasmania.  The Searson Buck Global Village is a new initiative where monies raised from casual Friday's will be used to provide livestock or a variety of essential services to families or villages in countries in need.  Through a structured, transparent approach we aim to raise $540 by December, which will assist the following countries: Uganda, India, Timor-Leste, Cambodia, Vietnam, Sierra Leone and Sri Lanka.  This is in addition to salary donations to Juana, our Sponsor Child in Zambia.

Searson Buck's local community focus will continue with salary donations to the Royal Hobart Hospital Research Foundation.  The local focus will depend largely on what our committee members are passionate about.  Once ideas are brought to the committee, project groups will be assigned as additional hands to make fundraising activities achievable.  Details for upcoming events to be advised.

The Social Environmental Community Action (SECA) committee consists of 18 employees state-wide, and is divided into Members and Officers.  SECA Members are the newbies who have the initiative to dedicate their own time to help create a culture of environmental and community responsibility.  SECA Officers are the veterans who have consistently demonstrated the drive and commitment to go beyond what is required  to develop ideas and creative solutions to social, health, community and environmental problems.  SECA Members who demonstrate the same commitment will be promoted SECA Officers in 2010.
