Temporary Employment Job Registers

Information

Searson Buck operates Temporary Job Registers under contract for a number of organisations. These are designed to allow people seeking temporary, casual, and part-time work to be considered for work with these organisations. Additionally we provide Registers for people wanting to work in particular industries.

Currently available Registers are:

1. Temporary Admin, Clerical, Finance and Business Services

2. Information Technology

3. Temporary Hospitality and Events

4. Department of Primary Industry and Water, Fixed Term Employment

5. Department of Police and Emergency Management, Fixed Term Employment

6. Department of Environment, Parks, Heritage and the Arts, Fixed Term Employment

7. Local Government, Fixed Term Employment

8. Legal & Medical Administration

9. Centrelink Data Entry projects (None currently available)

To join a Register you will need to register as a Candidate using our Online Registration process, enter here (Register) to start this process. (Ensure you select the relevant "Temporary Employment Register" box on the My Skills page in the Registration process).

Important information:

We encourage all applicants to take their time completing the candidate registration process. Please provide as much information about yourself and your experience when completing each page, particularly the My Skills page. We also ask that you attach your resume, this can include a cover page further explaining your work skills and the type(s) of work you are interested in applying for. 

When a fixed term vacancy is lodged with Searson Buck we use the information you provide to match your skills to the position.   Therefore, the more accurate information you provide, the easier it is for us to match you to relevant positions. 

Register Details

1. Temporary - Administration, Clerical, Finance and Business Services Register

This register is designed to hold people looking for work in the commercial sector using administration, finance or clerical skills. Occupations included;

  •       General office staff
  •       Secretarial
  •       Administration
  •       Reception
  •       Personal Assistant
  •       Executive Officer

 

2. Information Technology Register

This Register is for temporary and contract positions ranging from;

  •       Help desk
  •       Network engineers
  •       Software engineering
  •       Web site developers and designers
  •       Database management
  •       Graduates

3. Temporary Hospitality and Entertainment Register

A Register for casual or fixed term, and for permanent jobs:    

  •     Food and Beverage supervisors
  •     Bar and Waiting staff
  •     Banquet and function staff
  •     Kitchen staff (Cooks and Kitchen Hands)
  •     Ushers and Ticket sellers
  •     Promotional Demonstrators and Merchandisers

  

4. Department of Primary Industry and Water, Fixed Term Employment Register    

This is a fixed term and casual Employment Register for the Department of Primary Industry and Water.

A variety of roles are available through the Department including office and outdoors work. Enter (HERE) to look at available jobs and job types.

When registering for DPIW we will require a copy of your resume and during the registration process you will need to indicate your hours of availability and the positions you are interested in.

Some positions require a recent Tasmanian and or National Police Record.  Therefore it is advisable, once you have registered with us, to obtain a copy of your Police record prior to a Consultant contacting you regarding a position.  We have provided a link here to the required consent form .

Once registered your details will be placed in a secure database. Searson Buck's Tempforce staff will use this database to match the requirements of a vacant DPIW position with the relevant skills and experience of those registered.

Searson Buck's privacy policy ensures that your personal information is protected at all times. Your registration details will be kept on the Employment Register for a period of two years, unless you request them to be removed.

How will I know when a vacancy exists?

When a position becomes vacant at DPIW, Searson Buck is contacted to review the Employment Register for suitable candidates.  You will then be contacted to seek your interest in the position and a Statement of Duties provided for your review.  Our Tempforce Division will then interview, test & shortlist appropriate candidates for the final selection process with DPIW. 

DPIW will select candidates and employ them directly for varying periods.  When you have completed an employment assignment you should notify us of your availability to be considered for further positions.

5. Department of Police and Emergency Management, Fixed Term Employment Register

This is a fixed term and casual Employment Register for the Department of Police and Emergency Management.

7. Local Government Fixed Term Employment Register

Searson Buck has arranged with Tasmanian Councils to provide temporary staff on an as required basis for a range of office and outdoors work.

  •       General office clerical
  •       Secretarial
  •       Administration
  •       Reception
  •       Personal Assistant
  •       Executive Officer
  •       Maintenance staff
  •       Grounds staff
  •       Road workers

Position may be available in locations across the State.  To register for these roles Searson Buck will require a copy of your resume and during the registration process you will need to indicate your hours of availability, the positions you are interested and in which locations you wish to work.

8. Legal & Medical Administration Register

Flexibility, Great work environments, Variety

Our clients in the Legal and Medical industries regularly require people with experience in these fields to fill a variety of Permanent and Temporary roles.

Applications are invited from people interested in joining a Register of Legal and Medical professionals. Registrants will be given priority consideration for vacancies which arise from time to time in a variety of locations around Tasmania.

The following are a guide to positions which typically become available:

9. Centrelink Data Entry projects

Centrelink routinely have a number of fantastic opportunities for people to work on projects.

These projects not only allow you to work in a fun team environment, but also allow you to use your data entry skills, accuracy and eye for detail, all while earning some extra helpful dollars. 

Projects usually require staff to dedicate a minimum of 2 to 3 nights a week (up to 5 nights)

Please note:  Due to regulations, current Australian citizens only can apply for these positions when they are available.
