General Manager – Sales and Client Relations

Andrew's role with SB is to ensure a premium level of service is offered to potential clients and delivered to existing clients. Andrew specializes in Executive Recruitment, with experience placing senior candidates across a range of industries.

Located in Hobart and focusing on the southern Tasmanian market Andrew's tenure with SB extends over 12-months. Andrew holds a Certificate in Recruitment and Selections (RCSA 2008), a Diploma of Financial Planning (FPA 2002), a Graduate Diploma of Applied Finance and Investment (FINSIA 2006) and is currently completing an MBA. Andrew is a Fellow of FINSIA (FFIN) and a Member of the AICD (MAICD).

Andrew's community involvement includes membership of the Rotary Club of Hobart (Past Director), sponsorship through Plan International of a young Honduran boy, regular blood donation and support of the Royal Hobart Hospital Research Foundation.

Andrew says regarding his role "It's about building trust and respect with clients and candidates and the best way to do that is to do what you say you will - without fail. Listen to your customers whether what you're hearing is good or critical: especially when it's critical. Think what you like but the customer passes judgement in the end. The people here at SB are amazing: to lead a sales team of professionals with attitudes like this is a genuine privilege."

Maurice has more than 30 years experience in accounting, finance and business management, along with significant experience in managing staff and company recruitment needs.

Educated in Tasmania, Maurice is a qualified Chartered Accountant. He initially worked as a partner in a local accounting firm prior to taking up a partnership with national accounting firm, Price Waterhouse, where he spent seven years.

For nine years Maurice held the position of Financial Controller on the Executive Management team with Loughrans Pty Ltd, Tasmania's largest retailer of electrical products, prior to its sale to Harvey Norman.

Maurice joined Searson Buck as Director and a part-owner in 1999.  He is responsible, along with fellow directors, for the overall strategic direction and success of the company, managing in particular the key financial indicators of the business. Maurice aims to achieve financial success for Searson Buck by providing the best possible work environment for staff and facilitating innovative solutions to meet the recruitment needs of clients.

Maurice is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants and a Member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

Stephen's career has spanned more than 30 years in the recruitment industry. He worked in Sydney and Melbourne prior to moving to Tasmania in 1988 and establishing Searson & Associates, a specialist Human Resource Consulting & Recruitment company. 

Born and educated in NSW, Stephen has a Bachelor of Commerce degree (UNSW), a Graduate Diploma in Management (SIT) and an MBA from the University of Tasmania.

Joint CEO of Searson Buck, Stephen has played an active role in growing the company into the largest Tasmanian owned recruitment, retention and people management business in Tasmania.  With fellow Directors, Stephen is responsible for the overall strategic direction and success of the company while still maintaining an active role in senior HR work.

Stephen is a member of the Vic/Tas Council of the Recruitment and Consulting Services Association (RCSA) and a Fellow and former State President of the Australian Human Resources Institute (AHRI).  He is a member of the Athenaeum Club and the Hobart Rotary Club.

Stephen's professional objectives are to provide outstanding client service, to provide fulfilling careers and professional satisfaction for Searson Buck staff, and to achieve financial success for Searson Buck by providing innovative solutions for its many clients.
