The Project Manager is responsible for overall project delivery, head contract obligations, commercial performance, design coordination, and leadership of site, engineering, and commercial teams.
Based in Devonport or Launceston, Tasmania you will join a high-performing leadership team delivering one of Tasmania's most significant commercial construction projects.
The Opportunity Reporting to the Project Director, you will be responsible for the successful delivery of a major commercial construction project, ensuring safety, quality, programme, and financial objectives are achieved. The role requires an experienced construction professional who can confidently lead project teams, manage client expectations, oversee contract administration, and drive project performance from start to finish.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the overall delivery of a major commercial construction project.
- Manage head contract obligations, contractual correspondence, and client communications.
- Oversee project budgets, forecasts, variations, claims, and commercial performance.
- Manage extension of time (EOT) submissions and contract compliance requirements.
- Coordinate site, engineering, design, and commercial teams to achieve programme milestones.
- Lead project meetings and stakeholder engagement activities.
- Drive project safety, quality, and operational outcomes.
- Provide leadership and direction to Site Managers, Engineers, Contract Administrators, and project teams.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, and subcontractors.
- 10+ years' experience in commercial construction project management.
- Proven experience delivering major commercial building projects valued at $150M+.
- Strong knowledge of head contract administration, variations, claims, and EOT management.
- Experience managing large multidisciplinary project teams.
- Excellent commercial acumen and stakeholder management skills.
- Tertiary qualifications in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Experience within Tier 1, Tier 2, or leading commercial construction contractors highly regarded.
- FIFO arrangements may be considered for the right candidate with proven experience delivering major commercial construction projects.
