Calling members of Tasmania’s Skilled Migrant community and employers of local civil construction businesses…

 

 

Searson Buck Group are proud to be delivering a dedicated workforce development and capacity building program to support employment pathways for the Skilled Migrant community into the Tasmanian civil construction sector.

Working closely with industry partners, Migrant Resource Centre Tasmania, training organisations and local employers in the construction sector, the Skilled Migrant Civil Construction Workforce Capacity Program aims to identify and re-skill workers with the following accredited qualifications:

  • Mobile Plant Operators
  • Excavator Operator
  • Truck Drivers (General)

Program Participants

We are now calling for applications of interest from members of the Tasmanian Skilled Migrant community who consider themselves a suitable candidate for work within the civil construction sector. Specifically, this program will deliver a series of workshops and assessments focusing on:

  • Career advice
  • Communication skills
  • Diversity and inclusion in the workplace
  • Safety in the construction sector
  • Accredited training/licences

 

Tasmanian Civil Construction businesses

Additionally, we are seeking the support from southern Tasmanian civil construction organisations to support the placement of participants of this program for a paid work placement which will assist participants experience the day-to-day operations of a busy construction environment firsthand.

 

Working together with industry, we aim to provide the migrant worker with a more positive experience as they transition into a career within the civil construction sector and encourage local businesses to better appreciate and understand the valuable contributions of a diverse multi-cultural workforce.

 

Funding for this program has been provided by Skills Tasmania’s Energising Tasmania Training Fund.
