We’re recruiting a large team of Data Entry Operators and Team Leaders to support the upcoming Local Government Election with the Tasmanian Electoral Commission.
This is a short-term, high-volume project based in Hobart, working as part of a structured team to accurately process ballot paper data during the election period.

About the roles
You’ll be part of a dedicated data entry centre, working to process large volumes of information quickly and accurately. Roles are available as Data Entry Operators and Team Leaders, with Team Leaders also supporting supervision and workflow across small teams.
This is a structured environment with clear expectations, on-site support, and a strong focus on accuracy and consistency.
Key dates
System Stress-Testing:
- Tuesday 5 August 2026 - 9:00 am to 4.30 pm
- Wednesday 6 August 2026 - 9:00 am to 4.30 pm
Election Event:
- Tuesday 27 October 2026 (afternoon/evening shift) - 3:00 pm - 10:30 pm
- Wednesday 28 October through to early November 2026 (anticipated),
- 1st shift – 7.15 am to 2.45 pm
- 2nd shift – 3.00 pm to 10.30 pm
We’re ideally looking for people available across multiple dates, including both the August testing phase and October/November event.
About you
We’re looking for people who can work in a fast, repetitive environment without losing focus. You’ll need to be comfortable sitting at a workstation for extended periods and working as part of a team.
To be considered, you will need:
- Strong data entry skills with a focus on speed and accuracy
- The ability to meet minimum standards (around 7,000 keystrokes per hour with 90% accuracy)
- Good attention to detail and consistency
- Reliable availability across the project dates
- A professional approach and ability to follow instructions
