Sustainable Timber Tasmania (STT) is embarking on a significant strategic transition and is seeking three exceptional Non-Executive Directors to join its Board. This is a rare opportunity to help guide not only the transformation of a business, but also the future of Tasmania’s vital resource sector.
STT is a respected institution with strong internal capabilities, robust systems, and a track record of industry leadership.
As an STT Director, you will:
- Guide the organisation's long-term strategy, ensuring robust governance and the highest ethical standards
- Provide independent oversight to successfully balance commercial performance, environmental stewardship, and maintaining community trust
- Contribute expertise to high-level market reform, contract negotiation strategies, and policy engagement to secure STT’s future
- Champion investment, innovation, and long-term market confidence in Tasmania's renewable timber resource
- Act as an ambassador to strengthen public trust and key stakeholder relationships
- Forestry Operations: Operational forestry, supply chain management, and sector transformation
- Financial & Commercial Acumen: Commerciality, financial oversight, and strategic investment capability
- Stakeholder Engagement: Experience with government, industry, and community, including GBE and governmental insights
- Legal Compliance: Legal governance and regulatory compliance
You will contribute within a reforming policy context (GBE reform, Net Zero 2030), supported by a capable, engaged Board and executive team. The Board combines industry expertise, local market knowledge, and strategic vision.
