About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Corporate Accountant to join our client's finance team. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the successful candidate will oversee various finance operations to ensure compliance, accuracy, and efficiency. The Corporate Accountant will play a pivotal role in contributing to the financial and management accounting functions including financial accounting, board reporting, grant acquittals, statutory tax and external audit obligations, assists in the development and management of budgets and assists in external corporate reporting. The Corporate Accountant will manage and motivate a small finance team including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and the Payroll Officer to ensure the smooth administration of finance and payroll functions.

Key responsibilities

  • Oversee monthly and annual reporting.
  • Prepare journals accurately and on time.
  • Payroll management.
  • Managing and maintaining company asset register.
  • Oversee the preparation of statutory returns.
  • Contribute to the delivery of monthly and annual board reports.
  • Support budget and forecast development.
  • Assist in the review and development of policies and procedures and process improvement.

About you

You will be a degree-qualified with experience in the commercial finance environment. CPA/CA or working toward desirable.

As the successful candidate you will have, excellent communication skills, an ability to work both independently and collaboratively, with strong problem-solving and decision-making skills. You will be highly organised with strong administration skills to meet deadlines under pressure and be able to lead, motivate and support your team, to deliver to high standards and on time. High levels of computer literacy and understanding of contemporary finance systems is essential.
